On day one, you will not need a capo. However, If you are planning on playing guitar for an extended period of time, you definitely will run into a situation where you will need a capo. It is not required, but it is highly recommended that you buy one.

Students typically find that electric guitar is easier to play than acoustic guitar. The strings on an electric are much lighter. Students with smaller hands have more success on electric guitar than on acoustic. However, electric guitars are more expensive to maintain. The amp is also typically sold separately. I believe it is worth the investment since the number one reason I see students struggle is because their guitar is very uncomfortable to play.
I recommend the Squier Stratocaster starter pack to all of my beginner guitar students. It comes with a guitar, amp, strap, cables, and picks. This guitar sounds great for the price, and it is easy to play when compared to other starter guitars.
